Less nuclear power = more carbon emissions

The US is home to 56 nuclear power plants, which altogether produce about 20% of its total electricity supply— and more than half of its low-carbon electricity. The lifespan of a conventional nuclear plant is upwards of sixty years (maybe even eighty years or more), but many have faced early closures, and several more are planned to close over the next few years. Most would be replaced with natural gas. We can’t let that happen.
